Enterainment ideas for New Years

I am going to piggyback off of nanne%26#39;s question. I%26#39;ll be in town with my bf around Dec 28th through the New Year and looking for fun things to do. I really like jazz music and Broadway shows-things like that. We are looking for something to do other than the bar scene for a couple of nights. Maybe there are some traditional or local fun holiday shows or events in the area?

I%26#39;ve looked some on metromix but I%26#39;m always open for other ideas. We are in our mid 20%26#39;s. if that helps.
