4-day trip to see the Twins (June 14-18/09)

We are starting to plan our annual baseball trip to see the Twins play June 16/09. This group includes my parents (in their 80%26#39;s) my two 20+ year old sons, their girlfriends, myself (all from Canada) and my sister from Memphis TN.

We are planning to stay downtown and take public transit/walk to the sights and restaurants. Tentative plans include Scupture Garden, Mill City Museum, MIA, State Capital Tour in Saint Paul to name a few. Have a couple of questions....

How much is a cab from the ball park to Nicollet Ave. May just put my parents in a cab at 11:00 pm. I know it is only 10 blocks, but my mother has had triple bypass surgery and I walked her too far in NYC last year.

My sons are into Crossfitand and we have found an affiliate in Eden Prairie. It is 47 minutes by public transit, but again how much would a cab be from Nicollete Ave? Time saved may outweigh the cost.

The only touristy thing out this way is MOA and I cannot see these two things going together.

I am just at the stage of grouping near sights together, and any help is most appreciated.

Thank you

This site seems to provide a reasonable estimate.

Thanks for the site. It is great!! This will help in planning MY nap times!!

My sons can experience the wonderful 47 minute public transit you offer in Minneapolis rather then the $47.00 cab ride. (unless they are paying!!)On the other hand, it could be a very good warm up. I don%26#39;t think it would work coming home. May loose them for the rest of the night!

Thank you

Glad you like it. For the trip into Eden Prairie if the trip there and/or back is difficult via bus you may try taking the train from downtown to the MOM and then check cab fare from there.

For fun I checked cab fare from the airport to my house and it was pretty close...maybe a titch high but in the ballpark.

No time to check the fare finder. The downtown fare (Dome to Nicollet Mall) should be close to the downtown minimum of $5. Technically I guess could depend on where you are going on Nicollet Mall but I think it will be a drop in the bucket and a nice move for your mother. $7 max.

The cab out to Eden Prairie will cost you a pretty penny. I would guess at least $45-$50.

Just used the fare finder. Seems very accurate. I calculate a trip from downtown to my place which is usually $18 (with tip included). It came out to $18.03.

I think it%26#39;s a trustworthy tool. Very cool!
