prom dress shopping in Twin Cities?

We will be here for college tours, and now suddenly my daughter has plans to go to prom a few days upon our return ....don%26#39;t know if we%26#39;ll even have time to look for a dress on this trip, but just in case, are there any places open on Sunday that we could go to for this?? We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Metrodome (right near U Minn campus). We will also be going to Macalester. Thanks!

Macalaster is near the shops on Grand Avenue. I know it%26#39;s an area women go to shop for wedding dresses, so i imagine there would be places to shop for a prom dress to.

However, not far from Macalaster on Ford Parkway and Cleveland Avenue (in St. Paul) is a place called Stephanies. Now, I can%26#39;t tell you anything about the quality in there or prices. But they do advertise prom dresses there. They do have a web site.

Sorry, that%26#39;s all I can do on that topic. Not exactly my thing.

Well downtown Minneapolis there are many shops including Macy%26#39;s. Rush%26#39;s Bridal might have some bridesmaid dresses for sale off the rack but I would call to ask. The Mall of America of course would be a nice place to stop. You can take the light rail there from the metrodome. Macalester is close to Herberger%26#39;s off of 94 and Snelling. You could try to find a special one of kind dress at a consignment place near Macalaster.

Elite Repeat‎

1336 Randolph Ave, St Paul, MN‎ - (651) 699-2315‎

Both of these places are close to Macalaster (I went to St. Kate%26#39;s like 6 blocks from there).

Have fun shopping!

LOL to the original post.

We bought my daughter%26#39;s senior prom dress in Georgetown, on a college visit trip to George Washington and American U.

Unfortunately, her junior dress came from a pricey place on Nicollet Mall.

I agree that the Mall of America would be a great option to find just about anything. The Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul has an amazing array of bridesmaid dresses that would work well for prom, and are a great price. Usually you do have to call ahead for an appointment there, otherwise you may have to wait and it can get crowded. I believe they are open on Sundays.

thanks for all your suggestions. Turns out we didn%26#39;t have a chance to look in the Twin Cities (although we did get to the Mall of America for about 45 minutes before our flight). We ended up having a day in the Cleveland suburbs where we went to a fabulous store!
