Hi Guys,
I%26#39;m plannning to go to Maplewood%26#39;s The Rock on May 10th to see Testament in concert. Has anyone been there and can comment on the venue setting? I%26#39;m wondering if I can get close enough to the band to take good photographs, and whether ';moshing'; might take place (I%26#39;m going with the wife). I think the latter is unlikely, but I%26#39;m just checking.
It%26#39;s a shame that I%26#39;ve been spending a lot of time in the Twin Cities this year and that I didn%26#39;t know about the fantastic metal/rock scene you have going on there. I%26#39;ve missed lots of great shows, but better late than never, huh?
Also, would it make sense to get to the area early and spend some time there? Is there something worth seeing?
Thanks!
Julian

I%26#39;ve been to the Rock Nightclub a few times (a few years back). No moshing I saw and you can get pretty close to the stage. It really is just a large bar with band playing area.

As for closeby. It%26#39;s adjacent to a shopping mall and several smaller strip malls, if that%26#39;s of interest. Also a few golf courses nearby.
If it%26#39;s of interest, you might find a side trip to Stillwater as fun. There%26#39;s no pressing need to get to the area early.

Thanks for the reply. For some reason I didn%26#39;t receive the email saying a reply was posted here. I guess I%26#39;ll get there just before for the show.
At the end I couldn%26#39;t go to this gig because we ran the Komen race in Bloomington in the morning and then spent the afternoon sightseeing in Saint Paul. At 17 hrs we were too tired and decided to go back to the hotel and rest. Fortunately, I suspected something like that could happen and didn%26#39;t get the tickets in advance. Maybe some other time.
