Tourism

Staples Minnesota is a small community that is on Highway 10. It was a railroad repair station and is in the central part of Minnesota%26#39;s farming area. It is not considered a tourist destination. My wife and I go there fairly regularly because of family connections.

Thank you for the information......

But I think there is somethingo to visit, to eat, to do there.....

Mery Christmas

Amtrak (rail passenger service) still stops at Staples. Ages ago when traveling from Seattle we used to get off there to go to Brainerd, MN.

Has a few photos.

With a population of only 3,100 or so there is not much there. There is a local celebration on the 3rd weekend in August called Railroad Days that includes fireworks, parade and a chili cook-off. It is one of the few cities in Minnesota that is in two counties (Todd and Wadena). There is a farmers market in the summer on Saturdays. Todd county is not blessed with the large number of lakes that adjacent counties have so recreation is somewhat limited. The Brainerd lakes area is about 25-30 miles east. Fish Trap Lake is to the south
