Tried the Rainbow Cafe for the first time this past Friday. Small, one room cafe on Main St. Sophisticated, charming, yet small town cafe-ish at the same time. Excellent food, diverse menu ranging from more formal dinners to sandwiches/fries. Great Service. Ambiance is superb. Prices are very reasonable for what you get....and no lines and wait like at the overcrowded Rochester restuarants. The Rainbow Cafe is as far from a chain restaurant as you can get, and that is why we will be coming back and bringing people with us in the future!
Rainbow Cafe in Pine Island, MN - A Real FIND!
I agree that the Rainbow Cafe is a find for the area, although it gets crowded, too, and decor is pretty minimal. I found it because I went to a concert in Zumbrota, six miles up U.S. 52. The old Carnegie library there is the real find: It%26#39;s now an art gallery and concert venue, and they bring in great musicians: This January, Bill %26amp; Kate Isles, Dan Chouinard and Maria Jette, Dan Newton for Accordion-O-Rama, jazz pianist George Maurer and the bluegrass band Ivory Bridge. Claudia Schmidt is Feb. 6 and Peter Ostroushko March 13. It%26#39;s a tiny place, but the musicians love to play there. Check it out at www.crossingsatcarnegie.com.
