Club/bar suggestions?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a club in Minneapolis or St Paul, please? We%26#39;re two couples between 28 and 32. The wife likes dancing, so that%26#39;s basically what we%26#39;re looking for.

Thanks!

Club/bar suggestions?

Other than The Front in the N Hennepin area, I%26#39;m at a loss. I assume being from a world-class city, you%26#39;re looking for something trendy and upscale? You might ask your hotel concierge since they%26#39;ll be more familiar with the area where you%26#39;re staying?

I hear the Shout House is a really fun place, esp on Wednesday nights. However, dueling pianos might not be to your liking. First Avenue %26amp; the warehouse district are popular with revelers your age. I personally like dancing at the live local music shows, for which Minneapolis is famous. If that sounds fun, check out the CityPages to see who%26#39;s playing where. I personally like Cloud Cult, the Honeydogs and the Sweet Colleens. Some great venues include First Avenue, Fine Line Cafe, Cedar Cultural (may not have much dancing) and The Dakota (jazz %26amp; blues). And of course, if you%26#39;d like to see a world-famous local institution, you must catch the live polka music at Nye%26#39;s - it%26#39;s a riot!

First Avenue would be good

Nye%26#39;s is an experience

Ground Zero/the Front is just a few blocks from Nye%26#39;s, you could hit both

The Lounge is also good-

DrinkBar is another suggestion

What nights will you be going out, and where are you staying?

First Avenue calls itself the area%26#39;s danceteria. I%26#39;ve been there before on a night billed Swing Night -- they had big band (think %26#39;40s) music and some pretty amazing people who showed up for it. (I know they have a salsa-themed dancing night too, but i don%26#39;t know when, nor have I been there for it) I would keep an eye on their calendar or even call to find out what%26#39;s on tap for when you%26#39;re here. It%26#39;s a huge place and if nothing else, they open the place up for after-hours (as in after bars stop serving) dancing with Top 40/hip hop playing. People are always packing in for that.

Most of the louder places in the Warehouse District downtown have at least a small floor for dancing, but they%26#39;re pretty full and it%26#39;s usually more of a jumping around mash of people when I%26#39;ve taken a look over there. But maybe it will suit you.

I don%26#39;t know exactly what kind of dancing you%26#39;re looking for, though. I know the Imperial Room has the Imperial Lounge open on Friday and Saturday, with a DJ (probably playing you%26#39;re top 40 hip-hop hits. But it%26#39;s a nice place for a drink if the music isn%26#39;t your scene. And no cover.

Thanks guys. I was there on Friday night and we ended up at Imperial Lounge (they%26#39;ve got a Buffalo shrimp pizza that%26#39;s very tasty) and then Drink. The whole area is very nice and we had a great time.

I was staying in Bloomington, where%26#39;s next to nothing regarding night life.

Thanks again for the suggestions. They were all very good. I%26#39;ll be back in Bloomington in a couple of weeks and I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ll go to Minneapolis again.

be sure to hit the PizzaLuce ';slice line'; after the bar --

it%26#39;s tradition

about 2 blocks away from DrinkBar %26amp; ImpRoom
