Restaurant suggestions?

We are staying at the Kahler Grand and would like some restaurant suggestions within walking distance...nothing fancy, just good food and service. Thanks !

Restaurant suggestions?

We recently stayed at the Kahler and went to Victorias Italian Restraunt...we thought it was excellent food, and very good serivce. They have very good house bread, homemade itallian dressing and a great atmosphere. Prices are around $15-$20 a plate and you can definitely make two meals out if it if you take leftovers back to the hotel. Victorias is on the same block as the Kahler.

Also, if you are looking for a fun place for cocktails, a bar right in the Kahler called %26#39;Martinis%26#39; is a great fun little martini/sports bar with a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Restaurant suggestions?

Thank you !

The Grand Grill right there at the Kahler is pretty decent and not over expensive. Better than the average coffee shop type place. The Sweet Potato fries are really good (and a bit healthier than regular fries).

Also there, but probably too fancy, is The Lord Essex. Fairly small and not quite as fancy as the picture depicts (and smaller too) at www.thekahlerhotel.com/dining/lord_essex.cfm

but he food is excellent (see menu link).

The free hotel shuttle service to/from the clinic %26amp; hospitals opens up dining options beyond downtown. Famous Dave%26#39;s BBQ at the Guest House Inn is good. A couple blocks from there is an Olive Garden. Across from St. Mary%26#39;s hospital the Canadian Honker ( http://www.canadianhonker.com/ ) has always been pretty good and not expensive...definitely not fancy.

Victoria%26#39;s is a wonderful italian restaurant. The portions are large and could easily be split. We like the nostalgia of Pannekoeken. Chester%26#39;s is a favorite restaurant and is located in the Galleria Mall. Although Chester%26#39;s has steaks and an upscale menu, they also offer tasty burgers. Newt%26#39;s is above the City Cafe and is ranked as one of the top burger joints in MN. Newt%26#39;s also has great nachos that can serve as a meal for two. It also has an interesting atmosphere. If you are interested in pizza, try Bilotti%26#39;s. They feature New York style thin crust pizza with an abundance of cheese. The Grand Grill located within the Kahler also has good food. Lord Essex is my favorite restaurant in terms of a one of a kind atmosphere. It feels like you are walking into an old English pub. The menu is on the pricier side. Lord Essex has a great variety in their complimentary bread basket and their salmon is some of the best that I%26#39;ve tried. If you%26#39;d like to order Chinese take-out, try China Star. Jimmy John%26#39;s offers great sub sandwiches. All of these locations are within walking distance of the Kahler.

Thanks to all for the responses. We are back from Minnesota and did try a few of the suggestions. Victorias was great...wish we would have known to split the entrees..it was huge portions and so good! Had a snack at the Grand Grill..and great coffee in the morning. Also loved Pannekoeken...we ate there twice with great service and food. We were in Minnesota such a short time...hope to go back again. Have to tell you... the people were SO friendly ! You have a wonderful city.
