Night life

4 girls coming in for the dental convention this spring. Would life fun things to do on Friday night???

Night life

Are you looking for bars or clubs? Dancing? Dinner spots?

And where will you be staying?

I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;ll be staying downtown St. Paul. The most concetrated area for nightlife downtown is on West Seventh Street adjacent to the Xcel Energy Center (hockey arena). If you%26#39;re near the arena, find the Holiday Inn and follow West 7th a block or two farther away from the arena.

If the Wild are playing that night, downtown will be hopping. If not, you%26#39;ll have a little more room in the bars on West Seventh.

The one thing downtown doesn%26#39;t really have is dance clubs or clubs in general. For that, you might have to go to Minneapolis.

The Grand Avenue scene in St. Paul (cab ride out of St. Paul but not too far) has the Wild Onion where there is a small and packed dance floor. Nearby is Billy%26#39;s, which will be hopping on a Friday.

My favorite bars in SP are the neighborhood places like Sweeney%26#39;s. But it sounds as if girls%26#39; night is in need of something a bit more lively.

Night life

NYES NYES NYES !!

trek to Minneapolis %26amp; you%26#39;ll have a blast at Nye%26#39;s

per Equire Magazine - best bar in America

We are trying to find the night life in Sp then book the hotel close to it

would you consider staying in Minneapolis?

it%26#39;s 10 miles away / 10 min

easy direct buses connect the two downtowns.

the words ';nightlife'; and ';St. Paul'; don%26#39;t always go hand in hand...

I know but our boss wants to stay in SP and doesn%26#39;t want to drive??? I know sometimes she can be a fun hater. But we do have a rep of making a lot out of a little

ok -

givin that

try the Holiday Inn by Xcel Center - that%26#39;s got a strip of bars and Cossetta%26#39;s Pizza that you have to try.

Otherwise, the St. Paul Hotel is 5 star (but old), or the Crowne Plaza Riverfront (tower).

You%26#39;ll be in downtown proper, and within walking for cheap taxi to anything downtown.

Check out if there%26#39;s any plays or anything at either the Fitzgerald, or the Ordway.

I think Holiday Inn is the best bet too if you%26#39;re staying in SP. It%26#39;s on West Seventh aa block or two from McGovern%26#39;s, which is really the hub of night life in that area (W. 7th area). Also, an easy hotel to get to from the interstate (35E).

From there I%26#39;d think you guys could take a cab to the Grand Ave. area (maybe $12) if West 7th doesn%26#39;t fit. But keep in mind there are more options downttown than on Grand. It%26#39;s just that Grand has two places with one having a dance floor -- even if it is small.

Not sure what type of place you%26#39;re looking for exactly.

What weekend will you be in town?

Some fun things that come to mind are The Liffey in the Holiday Inn, Station 4 and MN Music Cafe. If the MN Rollergirls are playing at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium, it should be right up your alley - they have live bands at halftime and you can go dance on the floor, it%26#39;s a wild night.

Other suggestions in the Grand Ave include OGaras, Billy%26#39;s, The Happy Gnome, Sweeney%26#39;s... they%26#39;re not all dance clubs, but they are the party places.

Stargate got great reviews on CitySearch, but I%26#39;ve never heard of it - don%26#39;t go on Crystal Night, whatever that means.

Look them up though to be sure it%26#39;s to your liking.
