Hotel Location?

Flying in from Chicago, 1 day at Mall of America and next day Twins/White Sox game. Go Joe Crede!! Can i get around to all on public transportation and where should we stay?

Hotel Location?

Absolutely public transportation. Take the light rail (train) from the airport downtown and stay there. The train will also take you to the Dome for the game and to the Mall of America.

Where you stay downtown depends on your budget and whatever else you plan to do.

Hotels near the MOA will be cheaper, but there%26#39;s nothing to do in the area other than the mall.

you can easily do our one line Light Rail.

It connects downtown to the MegaMall via the airport.

Consider staying downtown, where the action is.

And you can walk to the dome from downtown, it%26#39;s just on th eastern fringe.

Here%26#39;s Light Rail map -

Here%26#39;s a downtown map with hotels listed -

Yep, I echo the thoughts on light rail train, especially if the events you%26#39;re looking at doing are the Mall and seeing the Twins beat the White Sox (diehard Twins fan here...). It%26#39;s about a 35 minute ride from the Mall (which is one end of the line) into downtown Minneapolis (other end). Many hotels in downtown are within walking distance of the rail line, or many hotels near the MOA (or the hotels often offer shuttle service to/from MOA for their guests).

Only addition I might suggest is to check out www.minneapolis.org. This is the website for the official visitors association for the greater Minneapolis area (so, will include much of the hotels in the MOA area). You can probably do some additional research on hotels to help your decision on hotel, or send questions to the forum here.

You might also want to consider Priceline or Hotwire, too. There have been some good recent winning bids.

Agree with the priceline comment. We recently spent three nights at the Hotel Mpls and got the room for 65 a night on priceline.
