Hotel near MCAD

Looking for reasonably priced hotel for a 10:00 am visit to MCAD next week. Any suggestions?

I would just check the prices and the TA reviews and go from there. I would assume it would be more interesting to stay downtown and close to campus to explore the area... unless you%26#39;re interested in being close to the airport %26amp; Mall of America.

The Holiday Inn Express downtown certainly is reasonably priced. Budget hotel. Simple, plain.

Probably the best location of anything near that price range. From there you can take either LaSalle (which becomes Blaisdell) south to 25th (left on 25th). To get to Lasalle from hotel follow 11th Street (one-way) to LaSalle, turn left.

Or Portland down to 26th (right on 26th, a one-way). To get to Portland take 10th Street (one-way) to Portland, right. This way is faster, but the hotel is on 11th.

Staying in towntown Minneapolis would get you close.

If there%26#39;s not a convention in town, even some of the upscale hotels might be a little over $100.

Try Westin / W / Aloft / Marriott City Center, or you could do Priceline downtown 4 star, and wind up at the Hyatt or Millennium for $60 - $85.

What days would you be here ?

You could do a visit without a car. Fly in and do the light rail downtown, and then just taxi to MCAD and back for $7 - $10, or a brisk 30 min walk.

I%26#39;ll second the Aloft hotel; it%26#39;s a few blocks beyond RIGHT downtown, but if you join the starwood preferred guest program (no charge to do so), I think you can get a pretty good deal right now.
