Sister's Day In Lanesboro, Minnesota...hummmmm

My Sister%26#39;s and I are having a week-end together in Lanesboro Mn. ( their are 9 of us, but only 4 can make it this year( boo-hoo))

We do this every year, attend a B%26amp;B, stay a few nights somewhere.

This year we have chosen Lanseboro. Never been there so am doing alot of research over the net.

We are staying ( in September) at the Historic Scanlan B%26amp;B, can%26#39;t wait!.

We will have our evening meal at the VINTAGE RESTAURANT. Also, we will attend the Commonwealth Theater.

Just wondering, where are all the shops, and what are some other things we should do.

thanks much!

You are in for a treat! Lanesboro is a great destination and you will find all kinds of things to do.

The shopping district is about 2 square blocks and you will find all kinds of quaint shops. Be sure to visit Olivias Attic, Cheryl%26#39;s Apparel (located in the old livestock feed mill), Liv Blooma and Amish Experience. Scenic Valley Winery makes local wine from all kinds of fruits. Make sure you go there and sample some. You will find no chain resturants or stores in Lanesboro.

If you want to bike, I would suggest renting bikes and bike just from Lanesboro to Whalan and back. It is a 8 mile round trip and goes along the river.

There are also Amish Tours which take about 2.5 hours. There is also a Trolley Tour of Lanesboro but it only goes if there are enough people signed up.

The Cornucopia Art center has a collection of orginal art works which you may just look at or you may purchase. Bluffscape Gallery also has some great orginal pieces.

You will enjoy the play at the Commonweal and your breakfast at the Scanlan House.

Have a great time!

Thank you Yellow-Pansy for your reply.

We will make it a point to visit most all the places you%26#39;ve mentioned...depending on our FEET. ha.

Hi, Button.

A group of six women friends are also visiting the area the last weekend in September. We%26#39;re actually staying in Preston, but we%26#39;re having dinner at the Old Barn Resort and seeing ';Harvey'; at Commonwealtheatre.

We%26#39;re going to take an Amish tour out of Harmony and visiting Niagra Cave, south of Harmony.

Other attractions in Lanesboro that we%26#39;ve considered but don%26#39;t have definite plans to take in are the Scenic Valley Winery and riding the bike trail. Bike rentals are available at Little River General Store. Both have websites.

Which weekend are you there?

We had a wonderful time in Lanesboro!

The Amish tours were the best, and so interesting.

I plan on taking my husband sometime this summer as I know he%26#39;ll enjoy it along with me again♥
