Plymouth Area

My wife and I are planning a trip in June in our Odyssey minivan making the following stops: Greendale, WI, Plymouth, MN, Keystone, SD (all Northern stops)returning on a Southern route taking us through Chanute, KS, and Parke County, IN. We have a general idea of the highways and byways to take but would like some input from those who have been there and done that. We aren%26#39;t going to hurry ourselves, would be willing to explore alternate destinations along the way, will be using a GPS %26amp; AAA TripTiks and are open to all suggestions.

We are most interested in clean, comfortable and safe accomodations.

Points of interest are welcome. We%26#39;re not campers/hikers, night clubbers, prefer suburban rather than urban.

Thanks in advance to all who share - this will be our first trip farther than Parke County.

Plymouth Area

ok... my question is - what%26#39;s special for Plymouth MN ? it%26#39;s a close suburb of Minneapolis.

Stopping for the Plymouth Playhouse ?

There%26#39;s a few chain hotels in Plymouth, but if you wanted something nicer or interesting, you could stay close elsewhere.

Plymouth Area

My son just moved to Plymouth. I know that we%26#39;ll be seeing Minneapolis and the Mall of America but would like some input from someone who either has lived there for awhile or knows the area.

You might enjoy the Grand Rios hotel / waterpark up on 694. Maybe 5 min from Plymouth.

Click on Plymouth Hotels in the upper left hand of the page. What you see is what you get. I%26#39;d think that any of the listings would meet your requirements. I live near the Radisson, but have only been there for meetings. I%26#39;ve never heard of the Oakwood at Stoneleigh.

There is also a Hilton Garden Inn just across Bass Lake Road into Maple Grove. It%26#39;s pretty new, has good reviews, and is just a cross the parking lot from an Original Pancake House--yum.

I was wondering why you chose Plymouth specifically too! (I have a friend who grew up there.)

Since your son just moved there, he might not be extremely familiar with all of the sights yet. The trolley tour was a good way for us to get a good overview of the city and not have to drive unfamiliar streets at the same time. We got on at the wonderful, free art museum.

Of course the lakes are lovely. We also enjoyed the ever-popular giant spoon with cherry, the nearby dandelion fountain, and driving by the Mary Tyler Moore house and statue. Touristy, but fun. :-)
